Thursday, November 27, 2003 saw the first stage of the construction process begin. Over 85 people witnessed a ground-breaking ceremony performed by Bishop Jean-Louis Plouffe, assisted by members of North Bay Catholic Cemeteries' Board and Carrier Mausoleums Ltd.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the Davedi Club for a luncheon hosted by Carrier Mausoleums Ltd.
