Most of us are accustomed to making our own decisions about our daily life and future plans. We exert our control over the final distribution of our assets and care of our survivors through our will and provision of life insurance policies. Pre-planning is critical for a number of reasons:
| the opportunity to raise the question of your interment wishes with family members and discuss their feelings; | |
| pre-planning gives you, your family and friends peace of mind; | |
| the need to research the impact of your wishes on the celebration of any funeral rites; | |
| the need to understand fully what is being selected and what obligations remain to be satisfied (e.g., burial, entombment or inurnment); | |
| a public statement of the deceased's wishes prior to death; | |
| the benefit of purchasing your service at today's prices, free from inflationary pressures of the future and relieving your family and friends of the financial burden of making arrangements at the time of death; |
Any payment(s) made for pre-planned cemetery arrangements go into our Pre-Need Assurance Trust Fund. You will receive a contract outlining the terms and conditions of your purchase and your cancellation privileges. All of the terms and conditions will be fully explained to you. When you pre-plan, you can pay in full by cash, post-dated cheques or credit card. For the short term, you can also take advantage of a time-payment plan and make monthly payments. Long-term arrangements can be made with your local financial institution.
If you change your mind within the first 30 days of making arrangements, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid for any cemetery services (opening of graves, niches or crypts) that you purchased. After 30 days, an administrative fee (as required by law) will be charged. To cancel Interment Rights (graves, niches or crypts), you will receive a full refund after 60 days. After a 60 day period, we can only refund you the amount paid, less the contribution which was made to the Care and Maintenance Fund (as required by law).
You plan for the safety and security of your family’s future, so why not ensure their peace of mind during those challenging times when a loved one passes? By preplanning, your family is spared the difficult questions associated with trying to make final arrangements with no guidance from the departed. So if you have questions about preplanning, or anything else associated with our services, please call us or request information by completing this form and mailing to North Bay Roman Catholic Cemeteries, 132 Golf Club Road, North Bay, Ontario, P1B 9T8.
